Elle ne joue qu’ avec ses poupées Barbie ?

C’est clair, elle est plus attirée par les paillettes et les frous-frous de Barbie que par le kit “baigneur-biberon-couches” Au fond c’est assez logique : elle vient tout juste de quitter cet univers de bébé et n’a pas forcément envie d’y replonger.Elle est aussi, à coup sûr, influencée par la télévision et par le marketing, très efficaces. Mais on peut voir le côté positif des choses : “elle ne fait qu’imiter le monde qu’elle perçoit“, rassure Alberto Eiguer, psychiatre et psychanalyste. ce qui prouve sa capacité à s’y adapter et vivre avec les autres.
Elle peut aussi très bien utiliser sa Barbie pour lui donner le biberon, pas forcément pour singer une sortie en boîte de nuit !. Et puis, comme ses amies, votre fille est surtout fascinée par le monde des princesses, largement investie par la poupée mythique de Mattel.
Un univers tout de rose bonbon, pas franchement subversif, uniquement créateur de fantaisie, d’histoires merveilleuses qui se finissent toujours très bien. Et celà, c’est bien de son âge, non ?

Barbie, un succès planétaire

Barbie est née aux Etats-Unis en 1959, à l’initiative de M. et Mme Handler, fondateurs de Mattel,une firme spécialisée en jouets et poupées. Ruth Handler remarqua lors d’un séjour en Allemagne, que Lili, une poupée-mannequin, pin-up aux formes épanouies attirait l’attention de sa fille Barbara alors adolescente, ce type de poupée allait totalement à l’encontre du style rond et asexué des poupées de l’époque. Son nom complet est Barbara Millicent Roberts, le terme Barbie désigne aussi comme nom générique des poupées mannequin de ce type comme la “Barbie” Madonna, la “Barbie” Cher ….
Mme Handler se lança donc dans la création d’une poupée dont la cible serait les teenagers américaines. Cette poupée de vingt-huit centimètres de haut incarnait en effet leur idéal esthétique avec sa silhouette élancée, son maquillage sophistiqué et sa garde-robe inspirée des grands couturiers parisiens. Censée représenter à l’origine un mannequin d’une vingtaine d’années, Barbie a évolué avec la société, son visage et sa coiffure ont été modifiés régulièrement ainsi que sa phénoménale garde robe, ses accessoires, ses maisons, ses véhicules et ses animaux. Elle verra également ses métiers, loisirs et professions se multiplier dans une perspective de plus en plus explicite de diversification du rôle de la femme.
Si Barbie est souvent une figurine blonde aux traits européens, sa couleur de cheveux varie en fait considérablement et son type ethnique s’est diversifié dès 1967 et plus systématiquement à partir de 1980, si bien qu’il existe à ce jour une Barbie pour à peu près tous les groupes ethniques du monde, rendant ainsi la gamme très atttrayante.
Autour d’elle une famille a vu le jour : Ken, incontournable chevalier servant, Skipper sa petite soeur, Midge sa meilleure amie, Francie sa jeune cousine,sans oublier ses nombreux amis.
Barbie tient la vedette dans un film expressément conçu pour elle “Barbie au bal des douze princesses“.
Aujourd’hui, Barbie ne se destine plus seulement aux petites filles, des séries limitées de collection, conçues pour les adultes sont venues enrichir la gamme et des clubs de collectionneurs s’organisent partout dans le monde, couturiers, bijoutiers et coiffeurs de renom l’ont parée de ses plus beaux atours et les médias continuent de la chérir.
